Ribbon Time

I love the magic of what happens when you draw the same scene time and time again.  No two drawings are ever the same.  I am always amazed and in awe of the creative process.  Enjoy this little drawing of a ribbon in a vase.

2013 Drawing

A new year. A new drawing. I want to see what can happen if I draw on a regular basis and let the creative juices flow.  I so love what happens in this process as it is always a surprise and I love surprises.

A combination still life drawing.  My favorite figs-they always grab me and I can't resist drawing them.

Summer time painting.  I have been drawing still lifes this summer and finally combined them with my love of the figure.  This is just the beginning of what I hope is many more combinations of this sort.  This painting was done over an incomplete painting that was started a long time ago.  In addition to this painting being about the still life and the figure it is about the layers

Objects that spoke to me.  Especially the green colors.  I didn't quite get out to draw the cactus.  I guess it will have to wait for another season.  You have to be fast with Mother Nature.  I find that when I draw I am able to come up with images and compositions that surprise me which is part of the fun of going from what is in front of you to something on the page.  Musing of an artist.
