A combination still life drawing.  My favorite figs-they always grab me and I can't resist drawing them.

Summer time painting.  I have been drawing still lifes this summer and finally combined them with my love of the figure.  This is just the beginning of what I hope is many more combinations of this sort.  This painting was done over an incomplete painting that was started a long time ago.  In addition to this painting being about the still life and the figure it is about the layers

Objects that spoke to me.  Especially the green colors.  I didn't quite get out to draw the cactus.  I guess it will have to wait for another season.  You have to be fast with Mother Nature.  I find that when I draw I am able to come up with images and compositions that surprise me which is part of the fun of going from what is in front of you to something on the page.  Musing of an artist.

Our desert is all a bloom with gorgeous flowers on the ugliest of cati. This week I am going to go out and draw from the desert and see what speaks to me. Stay tuned.

Black and white was the theme for January. Sometimes when I draw something and then go back a few days or weeks later I have no idea where the inspiration for the image came from. To me this image is mysterious and fun and I have no clue where it came from.

My final drawing of 2011. An abstraction of my coffee table vase and flowers. I am hoping to draw almost daily!!! I am giving myself some wiggle room.

Drawing with my newest granddaughter was a real treat this holiday season. We both drew the same still life which was a lot of fun. Lexa loves to do art!! I wish I had her drawing but In don't!! so this is mine.
